Stop United Nations From Taking Over Internet

Subject: Urgent: Stop United Nations From Taking Over Internet

NoInternetTax.org

THIS IS AN URGENT ALERT:

The United Nations is conducting secret meetings so they can TAX and control the Internet!

Leaked documents drafted by the European Telecommunications Network Operations Association show that companies in 35 nations want the U.N.'s International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to impose HEAVY COSTS on popular websites and their network providers.

Under their secret plan they want to finalize in December, the ITU would become the governor of the Internet - which means you, an American citizen, would be subject to the rules, regulations, and CENSORSHIP doled out by a multi-international body.

The U.N. has been pushing the idea of Internet taxation since 1999, when they proposed a tax on emails. This year, the U.N. Commission on Social Development re-introduced the idea of Internet taxation to support a "social protection floor." Ambassador Jorge Valero, the current Chairman, said capitalism was the source of the world's financial problems, and called for "progressive policies of taxation" that would require "those who earn more to pay more taxes."

In other words, the wealthy citizens of the United States and their successful Internet sites should open their pocketbooks to provide the world with tax revenue.

Eli Dourado, a co-founder of WCITLeaks, says Internet taxes represent "an attractive revenue stream for many governments, but it probably is not in the interest of their people, since it would increase global isolation."

Kenneth Anderson, law professor at American University says "there is an underlying resentment that the U.S. has such a strong governance over the Internet. There's an effort to push back against that, and also an effort among some that the UN be able to impose fees on various things."

Send your Personalized Fax to Congress right now and tell them to reject ANY attempt to give American freedom over to the United Nations!

The U.N. has declared access to the Internet, "A HUMAN RIGHT" - and they believe they should be able to impose taxes on the Web.

If the U.N. gains control of the Internet, your FIRST and FOURTH Amendment rights would cease to exist.

The UNITED NATIONS would now be in control of everything you do online.

Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R-Calif.) says, "For nearly a decade, the United Nations quietly has been angling to become the epicenter of Internet governance, but now those efforts appear to be intensifying. It's absolutely imperative for the United States to oppose this naked power grab led by Russia and China."

China and Russia are leading the effort to take control of the Internet, because they would then be conveniently able to censor usage.

Neil Snyder at American Thinker warned a few months ago:
I used to tell my strategy students at the University of Virginia to keep their eyes on the internet. At the time, our elected officials had decided not to tax purchases made over the internet to permit it to grow unhindered by cumbersome government restrictions, specifically taxes.

I told my students that one day, governments around the world would demand the creation of an internet tax to fund various things such as a global welfare system like the one that we have in the United States and a global police force/army with enforcement powers. The internet is the perfect vehicle to fund such programs because it's global in nature and it's easily accessible to anyone with a computer or a smartphone no matter where he or she lives.

...We are moving toward a global government with teeth. By that I mean a global political body with taxing and enforcement powers.

...Our elected officials left the door open for some group (i.e., the U.N. or some other global organization) to claim the authority to use its tax revenue-generation potential. That day has arrived. When our elected officials decide that it's time to give the U.N. or any other global group taxing authority, said group will go after the internet with reckless abandon, and the world as we know it will change forever.

It is up to you and me, right now, to stop any and all attempts at internet data collection, censorship, monitoring and taxes.

Please join our e-mail campaign and help NoInternetTax.org keep the internet safe from greedy bureaucrats. We ask for your urgent participation as we work to stop internet regulation, censorship and taxation. Please click here to send your very important personalized fax, today!

ITU's international long distance system used to make billions when people placed calls to relatives back in their home countries; but now, with the openness of the Internet and technology like Skype, those high fees for long distance calls have disappeared. The ITU wants that revenue back so they are bouncing around ideas on how to get it from Internet users like you and me.

We are facing the loss of our First and Fourth Amendment freedoms, the decimation of our U.S. Constitution, and a one-world government as the United Nations seeks to control everything online and destroy the sovereignty of the United States.

THE UNITED STATES IS A FREE COUNTRY! We are governed by our U.S. Constitution and we value our individual liberties! Do NOT let this assault on the Internet affect American rights!

NoInternetTax.org opposes any kind of internet tax - and we need your help to PROTECT THE INTERNET from burdensome regulations and unnecessary taxation!
NoInternetTax.org believes:
  • The moratorium on Internet access and discretionary taxes should be made permanent.
  • Taxes on Internet access are regressive by nature and only serve to widen the Digital Divide.
  • The United Nations, World Trade Organization and European Union have no right to try to impose or collect taxes on U.S. citizens.
  • The Streamlined Sales Tax Proposal, supported by the National Governor's Association, is unconstitutional and violates consumer privacy through its "national collection center" which stores personal information and Internet shopping habits.

If you agree with us, please send your personalized fax to Congress right now!

EVERYTHING is on the table. Every single activity you participate in online is under threat by the United Nations. If we allow the ITU to open this door, every aspect of the internet is going to be fair game.

STOP the United Nations takeover of the Internet before it's too late! Send your Personalized Faxes to Congress right now.

Sincerely,

Alan Gottlieb
