The advice in the headline sounds well and good, but, has anyone besides me ever heard of the "Brig" or military prison? A soldier cannot voluntarily disobey an order given by a superior officer without committing a breach of protocol and being arrested for the breach. You can't just lay down arms and quit the military without suffering the consequences. Let's be real about such irresponsible advice and articles that may put someone in serious legal difficulties. Ask Bradley Manning if he would have done it differently if given the choice.
Your argument is well taken, however, if an entire platoon or company did it en-masse the brass wouldn't be able to do anything about it, especially of the company had their ducks in a row and had documentation that what they were asked to do went against their oath or against the Constitution which their oath was sworn to uphold.
