THE BATTLE TO CONTROL
AMERICA’S HEADWATERS
The battle continues to be waged over the Montana Water Compact, which
would transfer control of Montana’s western watershed to tribal, i.e.,
federal control.
Most if not all Western states would be affected directly, and the nation indirectly.
Montana—which contains the Continental Divide, the west side of which
much of our rain falls—is the source of a vast portion of water that
eventually flows south and west into Idaho, Washington, Oregon,
California, Utah, and Nevada.
I am convinced that is why Montana and other strategic headwaters are
being targeted—control water and you control life, property, use,
economies, values, populations, etc.
We all have a stake in the outcome of this battle.
